Aged 88 years
John was a lovely quiet man, he was a keen railway enthusiast and member of the Carlton Male Voice choir. However John also loved the craic and music each week at the Comhaltas lessons/sessions on a Tuesday at the Irish Centre - Wilford St. He was born in England and of Irish Grandparents. He expressed his love of Ireland and all things Irish when he slipped his tin whistle from his coat pocket and played slow airs, reels and jigs. He joined the Comhaltas group for the past number of years both on the parade float and on the stage and his encouragement of the young musicians will long be remembered.
